Update on City Council & Court Case

This is an update on today's vote by City Council on the City Consent Agreement that gives Metro the right to the streets on all the alignments. The City Council voted today, under the guidance of Mayor White, to give the streets to Metro, even though City Council had no information on the actual alignments and plans. Metro will be able to build as they wish.

City Council Members Voting for the Consent Agreement:

Toni Lawrence

Adrian Garcia

Jarvis Johnson James G. Rodriguez
Anne Clutterbuck Peter Brown
Wanda Adams Sue Lovell
M.J. Khan Ronald Green
Pam Holm Melissa Noriega

City Council Members Who Were Wise Enough to Want More Information & Voted Against:

Jolanda "Jo" Jones
Mike Sullivan

Our lawsuit against Metro for their renamed Westpark Alignment, now the "University Line", proceeds and will go to the appellant court soon and then be returned to Judge Levi Benton for his ruling on "standing" - whether Daphne Scarbrough has a right to sue Metro for their unapproved taking of Richmond Avenue. Our attorney, Andy Taylor, has done an outstanding presentation of evidence before Judge Benton and is well prepared for the next round of court hearings.
